The Atlantic Spaceport Complex (ASX) Supporting Equatorial to Polar Orbits, Multiple Launch Pads, History in the Making from Newfoundland and Labrador

Canada's Gateway to Space

Owned and operated by NordSpace in Newfoundland and Labrador, the Atlantic Spaceport Complex (ASX) is aiming to be the first operational Canadian orbital spaceport, and make Canadian history as the nation’s gateway to space. The spaceport is being designed and built for NordSpace’s workhorse orbital launch vehicles, Tundra and Titan, for year-round launches. Situated at a mid-Atlantic latitude of approximately 46° the spaceport balances orbital efficiency with geographic flexibility.

The ASX Advantage

The Atlantic Spaceport Complex offers a set of capabilities unmatched by any launch site in Canada:

1. Widest range of nominal launch inclinations in Canada, from 44 to 105° for access to polar, sun-synchronous, mid-inclination, equatorial trajectories.

2. Largest safety distances of any launch site in Canada, positioned 5+ km from the nearest town enabling safe operation of medium-lift rockets.

3. Approved for up to 20 launches per year, significantly higher than any other launch site in Canada.

Wide Range of Launch Inclinations

The Atlantic Spaceport Complex's unique location will provide the widest range of inclinations among all spaceports in North America, ranging from approximately 44° to 105°. This allows for easy and efficient access to all orbits from equatorial to polar.

Multiple Pads for Multiple Vehicles

ASX will feature two launch pads, Pad A and Pad B, to support not just NordSpace's own vehicle but partner launch vehicles and companies. Access one of the most ideal launch locations in the world and leverage NordSpace's launch infrastructure.

Technology Safeguards Agreement

The upcoming TSA, a bilateral treaty-level agreement would allow U.S. organizations to conduct space launch activities in Canada with local service providers such as NordSpace. Pad B is being designed to be compatible with the TSA and U.S. launch companies.
